The Finnish Institute in St Petersburg

Institut Finliandii v Sankt-Peterburge

The Finnish Institute in Saint Petersburg, established in 1992, is an institute headed by the St. Petersburg Fund. It promotes cultural, scientific and artistic co-operation between Finland and Russia in its sphere of operations in St. Petersburg and in northwest Russia.

Cultural ties are also strengthened via co-operation with industry and commerce organisations and institutions. The Institute supports the teaching and studying of Finnish by regularly contacting local schools and Finnish teachers.

The Institute organises exhibitions, lectures, seminars, book presentations, theatre performance, film screenings and concerts at the Institute and in co-operation with other local parties. The Institute has its own library and a free Internet terminal for general use.
