The mission of the Finnish Institute in Sweden is to promote knowledge of the Finnish culture and society in Sweden as well as to support Swedish-Finnish culture and cultural exchange between Finland and Sweden.
The institute offers a versatile program consisting of exhibitions, concerts, courses in the Finnish language and seminars and lectures related to culture, science and politics. The exhibition program focuses especially on young contemporary fine artists from Finland. The concert program consists of everything from classical music to modern jazz, folk and pop music.
The library at the institute has over 10 000 volumes in Finnish and Swedish and a large CD-collection of Finnish music. The institute's reading room receives over 100 Finnish newspapers and magazines. In addition, conferences are often organized in the institute's beautifully renovated building from 1896.
